AMEP is looking for dedicated volunteers to join us in shaping the future of manufacturing in the Capital Area region.
We develop industry-informed, industry-led events and programs that directly support local manufacturers, and we can’t do it without passionate manufacturers and industry partners like you. Whether you’re just beginning your career or bring years of industry experience, AMEP offers a space to connect, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact alongside a dynamic network of manufacturing professionals.
Manufacturing industry partners and educators are invited to share information about their organizations at our bi-annual meetings. If you are interested in presenting at one of our meetings, please reach out to info@amepct.org. We are always open to collaborating on projects that align with our goals.
We currently have three active working groups focused on priority areas for our region’s manufacturing workforce. If you are a manufacturer, industry partner, or educator interested in contributing to one of these groups and helping create industry-led programs, please reach out to us at info@amepct.org. Let’s build a stronger, more connected manufacturing community, together.
The Business Development Working Group is committed to identifying growth barriers for manufacturers in our region. In response, the group designs and delivers customized programs, events, and training initiatives for manufacturers to engage in, addressing these critical gaps. Whether it’s enhancing sales and marketing strategies, preparing manufacturers for tradeshows, or facilitating high-value networking opportunities, our mission is to drive sustainable growth, foster meaningful industry connections, and empower manufacturers to scale their businesses effectively.
The Training Pathways Working Group focuses on empowering K-12 students by introducing them to the world of manufacturing and connecting them with age-appropriate opportunities to explore all the industry has to offer. We highlight local manufacturers in our own community, with volunteers who showcase how rewarding a manufacturing career can be. From interactive learning sessions to facility tours, our goal is to remove barriers to entry, dispel common misconceptions about manufacturing, and connect students with the resources they need, whether they choose a four-year degree, trade school, an alternative path, or direct entry into the workforce.
Our Job Quality Working Group focuses on a straightforward mission: helping manufacturers fill high-quality positions with high-quality candidates. The group develops training programs, provides resources, and offers a platform for discussion among upper management and executive leaders to ensure manufacturing roles are well-designed, competitive, and sustainable. By supporting employers in creating and maintaining these positions, we help manufacturers attract and retain top talent.
Volunteer with one of AMEP’s three working groups, Business Development, Job Quality, or Training Pathways, and play a hands-on role in creating and delivering events that strengthen your local manufacturing community.
